P90X2 - Review!

With millions of copies sold world wide and with the help of the internet P90X has become the best selling home fitness program ever! I use it daily and this blog will explain to you the reasons why you should incorporate it into your routine. Whether you're new to fitness and trying to get into shape, or out of shape and want to get that beach body P90X will give you the tools and know how to do so. With P90X everything is layed out in front of you and put on a silver platter. You're body is the key, your home is the gym, and your instructor is Tony Horton! I'll preach about the 53 year old beast in a later blog....yes I said 53. P90X brought us insane results, buckets of sweat, some puke buckets (plyo x), but nothing compares to P90X2! The seaqual to the best selling home fitness program. The original got you into shape but now its time to kick it up a few notches and folks a few notches is an understatement to say the least. X2 will test you and your body beyond anything you thought was possible. Don't believe me then try to X2 Core workout or the Chest & Back + Balance...talk about muscle fatigue eh Tony.

The concept that surrounded the original was Muscle Confusion. Changing up the workouts every 30 days so that your body can never adapt to the same routine. This adaption to a routine is known as the plato effect. Your muscles will eventually get used to certain moves and routines after doing the same thing over and over again. This in term is mucle memory and your muscles will eventually stop responding to the moves and routines thus stopping growth. To prevent this Tony Horton and the team at BeachBody has developed P90X to "confuse" your muscles by constantly changing the variety of moves and types of workouts each 30 days your muscles will not reach the plato effect. X2 has grown on this idea with more muscle confusion! You might be wondering how you could incorporite more muscle confusion into your workouts. New moves that focus on activating your core muscles while isolating different muscle groups at the same time. You still have newer versions of the Chest & Back or Shoulder & Arms workouts but the main focus in X2 is the Core and Strength workouts. These routines focus on activating your core while pumping out a variety of different reps. Also X2 includes no cardio! Yes no cardio....there are no workouts that focus soley on cardio. Even without specific cardio workouts you should try the PAP Upper or the Plyocide workouts and then tell me you didnt get a cardio workout in.

If you use the nutrition plan from P90X X2 provides you with yet another nutrition guide. You dont just get one plan with this guide...you get a solid three different food plans. Plan one: Fat Shredder, Plan two: Energy Booster, Plan three: Endurance Maximizer. So pick a plan to fuel your workouts and the results will come!

To sum everything up P90X got you ripped and fit....but X2 will push you to the limit and then some. I would recomend starting out with P90X before starting X2. P90X will get your body cut and ripped but X2 will make you an athlete! Trust me you want that athlete body.

So remember to take your before and after pictures, push play everyday, do your best and forget the rest!
